According to The Knot, I already have 11 items overdue. While envisioning my daaaay and possibly begin scouting out a gown I guess is important at this stage, I think that the Meeting of the Parents is the most important thing.
And, man, Manhattan is expensive. I am determined to have this whole shindig in New York City (I'm open to Brooklyn sites also) in the cheapest way possible, and I'm already getting a headache. So far I haven't found anything less than $110 per head, and that includes taxes and gratuities.
Keep calm.... keep calm.....

A few years ago a friend of mine had her reception at the NYU Ireland House http://irelandhouse.fas.nyu.edu/page/home. Its one of the buildings in the Washington Mews - that little cobble stone street just north of the park. It was a fairly small venue (not sure how many guests you're having) but lovely and they went with it because it was EXTREMELY inexpensive. All the NYU language houses are close to the park and many of them are quite beautiful...it might be worth seeing if any of the others rent out for private events.
thanks for the tip! i was really excited but it's too small. i looked at another nyu international house but it's open for nyu affiliates only...
how affiliated do you have to be? You know EOB went there for undergrad, and my cousin worked for Stern for years... let me know if you need any strings being pulled for you!
