Some more questions (yes I already bought the stupid Bridal Bargains book, but I still couldn't find the answers to these!):
- Is it appropriate to just hand-address invitations? Do I really need to get them done by a calligrapher or printed on? Can I just stick address labels on them?
- What can I decorate with that won't make me sick? (I'm talking "sick" in a literal sense, I'm allergic to flowers.)

hand-addressing is fine, but know the mean people like myself laugh at poor penmanship. we'll probably be doing clear labels, ourselves. i mean, whatever gets the invite to the person in time, y'know?
for decorations, you can always do: silk flowers, candles (hurricane lamps, votives, art deco Tiffany lamps, etc), food (pears/apples in bowls, or cupcakes in the centerpiece or something), wine bottles (with candles in them, or full of wine)....
bring Benadryl to our wedding cuz we're having flowers!
@words - benadryl makes me sleepy! it's all about the claritin.
i saw some pictures of a wedding that used silk flowers, and i didn't like how they looked in photography. i was actually more worried about what can i walk with down the aisle that won't make me sneezy. though, it would be awesome to walk down the aisle holding a wine bottle.
Hey, are you allergic to the pollen or the scent or both? I googled flower allergies and weddings and found some amswers. Can't remember the site where I read it, but I can look it up.

Also, I can do calligraphy and have the time if you want me to do it.

Try claritin (loratidine) not benadryl. It will not make you sleepy - but start earlier than the night before the wedding.
xxxxoooMOG and allergy aficianado
Also, I much prefer hand addressing -
quality of handwriting does not matter as much as the concept of personalization.
