totally non-essential. we're just doing one because i love polaroids, and i envision much humping of the wax sculptures during the cocktail hour that needs to be documented in film. forever.
What's the big deal on the guest book? It doesn't cost much, and you'll have a record of who was there. Not everyone will get their picture made, but you should know who came.
@anonymous - i just think they are pointless. i also never sign them unless forced to, and i know not everyone will sign it. it's just one more thing to worry about that's not important to us.
I agree. If you don't want one, don't worry about it! I'm setting out a stack of cards for people to sign and I plan on incorporating them into my wedding scrapbook with pictures of the guests afterwords. Since knowing me, I'm going to make a scrapbook anyway, I thought that would be better than just a random book that I'm never going to look at again.
@stampinrachel - cute idea! it's totally you, too. i'm sure it will turn out well. i just can't muster up the energy, and i wouldn't want to keep a guestbook.
Dude and I got married on a cold March Saturday in New York City. This blog chronicles the time of our engagement, through my complaints and frustrations with socially accepted wedding traditions, through navigating complexities when marrying into a different culture, through our awesome Manhattan 115-guest wedding that people said couldn't be done and didn't send us into debt, and now onto the aftermath.
I say what I mean and I mean what I say. I nitpick everything and do not accept LOL and LMAO and ROFL as valid forms of communication. Language is what distinguishes us as humans, let's not let it degenerate.

@sweet t - that's a great idea! i'm so bummed they don't make polaroids anymore.
i am leaning towards no guest book. i never really understood the point.
