I Think I Messed Up the Save the Dates

So, I finished the save the date cards last week (woo-hoo!) and sent them off to the printer. A couple of days ago, I realized I may have left off something really important. Instead of listing hotel options, I only referred my guests to our wedding website "for more information". I thought this would be enough information until I started looking at all the save the dates I've received in the last few months, and all of them (except one) have hotel information either as an extra insert or on the back of the card.

I think that most of my guest list would know to look at the website, and over half are local and wouldn't need hotels, but I got to thinking if this is something that needs to be spelled out.

What do I do?
- Option A - make a quick insert and put it in with the save the dates
- Option B - stop thinking about it, the referral to the website is enough and you are comparing yourself to other people which you swore you wouldn't do

This might be slightly long winded and possibly not helpful, but here goes!
My gut reaction was, B, stop thinking about it seriously people will figure it out!
Then... I tried to make hotel reservations for a wedding 6 weeks away, 1,200 miles away, for which we just received an invitation on Saturday. We never received a formal 'Save the Date' to this wedding, but have been assured by the groom for the last 6 months that we were invited. Anyhoo, there is NO hotel information on the invitation and no wedding website information (they did however, manage to list the registry information). There is a hotel mentioned on the directions insert, so i called them, but they have no record of this wedding...The directions also don't 'lead' to the same place that is mentioned on the actual invitation, so I'm really just confused all around. So after dealing with this yesterday, I'm more inclined to say, go with A!

I'm sure your actual invitation / save the date will be MUCH less complicated than this one, so I'm sure that option B will be totally fine... I just wanted to share my experience with you!!!

B. let it go.

We put one hotel out of four on ours because our wedding is a totally different situation. ALL our guests are from out of town, and some of the family are computer-challenged (ie my mother). We also basically copied a back layout I found on a local SD board and liked. You are having a local wedding, and you said you're not sending to family, so you'll be fine. people will get it.

@rachel - that's exactly what i'm worried about! is it possible the wedding you're going to didn't reserve hotel blocks? i didn't realize this til recently but apparently some people do that.

@words - my family won't be getting the save the dates, but Dude's family will, and they are all out of town.

I think you're right... there is no hotel block. I realize that isn't a necessity for every wedding, I guess I just assumed it was a courtesy for a wedding where I'm assuming 75% of the guests are from out of town. Or even if there is no block reserved, give me the name and #'s of a couple of hotels close by! Not everyone wants to google hotels in middle america!

Honestly, I think you're good as long as its on the website though. At least the information is there ...somewhere!!
